Dr. Tanner was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where his passion for dentistry started at a very young age as a son of a small-town dentist, Dr. Michael Tanner. Having lived in the west Los Angeles area for the past 15 years, he is anxious to contribute his knowledge and passion for dentistry and to serve within the local community. Dr. Tanner completed his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri. He completed a general practice residency at USC and the North Hills VA before starting his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at UCLA in 2012. Dr. Tanner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with special interest and expertise in orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Tanner is married to Victoria and has two young children. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as back-country hiking and camping, skiing, mountain biking, and photography. In addition, you may catch him in the middle of a small construction project as he has interests in architecture and design.
